Pan-fried fish cakes are a great quick way to add some protein and a kick to your dinner. Serve with rice and other vegetable side dishes. If you make it less salty, you can also enjoy it as a snack.

Onion (Medium) 양파
½ Green Onion 파
Green Chili Pepper 풋고추 (optional)
½ Red Chili Pepper 붉은 고추 (optional)
1 tbsVegetable Oil 식용유
1 tbsSesame Seeds 깨 (optional)
2 tbsSugar 설탕
1 tbsGarlic (minced) 다진 마늘
1½ tbsSoy Sauce (regular) 왜간장
1 tbsGochugaru, Korean Hot Pepper Flakes 고추가루 (optional)
¼ tspBlack Pepper 후추

Optional Ingredients and Substitutions
Red and green chili peppers: You can use red and green peppers instead of chili peppers if you don't have them or want something less spicy.
Sesame Seeds: can be omitted.

1. Wash

Wash all the vegetables thoroughly under running water.

Chop green onion. Slice chili peppers diagonally.

4. Sauté

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a frying pan on medium heat. Add onions and stir-fry it for 1 min.

Add fishcakes and sauté for 3 min.

6. Add green onions, chili peppers

Add green onion and chili peppers and sauté for 2 min.

7. Season

Add 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1½ tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of gochugaru (red chili flakes) and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper. Sauté on medium heat for another minute.
