Red and green chili peppers: can be omitted or replaced with red and green peppers.
Mulyeot: can be omitted or replaced with jocheong (rice syrup) or honey.
Cheongju (Korean Rice Wine): can be omitted or replaced with white wine.
Sesame Seeds: can be omitted.

1. Clean Squid
Remove internal organs and eyes of the squid. Be careful of the black ink inside. Peel off the skin (optional). Rinse thoroughly under running water.

2. Cut Squid
Cut the legs into 2” (5cm) long strips. Cut the body part in half and cut each piece into ⅜” (1cm) wide, 2” (5cm) long strips.

3. Make seasoning sauce
Mix 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1½ tablespoons of soy sauce, 1½ tablespoons of red chili pepper flakes, 1 tablespoon of malt syrup, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of rice wine, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, ½ teaspoon of black pepper and 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds.
Marinate the squid for 20 min.
5. Slice onion
While marinating, prepare vegetables. Peel, wash and slice an onion.

6. Slice peppers
Wash 1 chungyang chili pepper, 1 red chili pepper and 1 green chili pepper. Slice them diagonally.

7. Cut green onion
Wash and cut 1 green onion diagonally.

Preheat a frying pan for 1 min on medium heat. Stir-fry vegetables and squid until the squid turns white. Serve on a plate. Enjoy!
